| Archives & Projects |
Many pedigrees are held in the archives, plus isolated pockets of families which we hope to 'tie-in' when information comes to hand or through the use of DNA.
Most of the families of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire descend from William Surman of Eldersfield, South Worcestershire who leased land in 1480. Those originating from around the Oxfordshire area descend from Stephen Surman of Buckland c.1500.
The Archives also consist:-
St. Catherine Indexes of Births, Marriages and Deaths from 1837 - 1998.
Census Returns for 1841, 1861, 1871, 1881 & 1901 for the whole of the UK, plus various others but far from complete.
I.G.I. for most parishes.
Plus many other documents
Current Projects
| 1 | DNA Project | Is run in
conjunction with our 'cousins' in the USA. The results and some general
information on DNA can be seen on http://www2.netdoor.com/~sirmon/dna/dnaindex.html From this page you can contact either administrator for a Joining Form or go direct to:- http://www.familytreedna.com/ and enter surname in the search field. We ask participants for a short write-up on their earliest known paper-trail ancestor (maximum of 9 lines). |
