{short description of image} St John the Baptist, Tredington.  Founded in the 12th century. Restored 1845 at John Surman's suggestion. Tower rebuilt as a timber framed structure in 1883 at the expense of John and Elizabeth Surman. 'The Friends of Tredington & Stoke Orchard Churches' raised some of the funds required for the reroofing and work was completed in 2002. Many family B.,M.,D., carried out here.
St Nicholas, Ashchurch St. Nicholas Church, Ashchurch, Gloucestershire. Thomas Surman married Sarah Bick at this Church in 1750 and their children baptised at the same. Their daughter Sarah married William Skey here in 1779.

Ann, dau. of Thomas and Sarah, married William Moore Gibbs in 1782. David Surman married Mary Drinkwater in 1793. Two daughters named Mary were baptised 1794 & 1797 and one buried in 1796. Harriet Surman, wife of John of Conderton, was buried in 1843.
St George, Birmingham St. Georges Church, Hospital Street, Birmingham - now demolished. Frederick Surman married Jane Joseph in 1906.
